Alright, I am kidding, A LOT more is actually going on but having made it through the summer feels AWESOME.
It was an unseasonably hot one for Portland, Oregon. And we have been BUSY! So many lemonade stands, Oregon coast trips to cool off mixed up with hot but fun urban hikes. And amazing camp experiences for the kids (NW Film ROCKS and so does skateboarding!) And when my 3d grader liked school during first week back and my new middle schooler survived the chaos of the new middle school experience, I knew we really, truly, MADE it.
But what's up with the biz? Well, surprisingly, it kept going strong throughout the summer also! I have to confess: I was not blogging or sending newsletters often, summer was just too active (see above:-)! But I did get to update my website with a fresh new look and I LOVE it! What do you think? Let me know in the comments below please!
What is next? I am beyond excited about my upcoming talks at the Lan Su, Portland Chinese Garden. The first one is coming up this Thursday (September 3rd)!
Check them out if you can: the talks are free to public ,with garden admission, and we will be digging into some really fun stuff there. Plus, it is a great excuse to make it the garden which has been one of my favorite spots in Portland for the last 15 years or so. The teahouse there is amazing also (rumor has it, sometimes I take my client meetings there over cups of the best tea:-)).
I do understand that not everyone can make it to the Portland Chinese Garden this month, however. Some of you, my dear readers, would have to travel half across the world to get there. So the plan is to try to record the talks also so that clips can be available to those of you who can't be there in person. The latter is "work in progress," so bear with me there!
In October, my parents are visiting us from Moscow, Russia. We are stoked and can't wait to hang out with them! This means that most of October is Family Time here (living in different hemispheres, we don't get to see my parents very frequently). This also means that most of my business calendar is blocked off to spend quality time with my family (psst... YOU are likely to get some AWESOME family recipes afterwards as I am seriously going to shadow my Mom around the kitchen:-)).
This also means that, if you have been waiting to finally focus on YOU once kids went to back to school, don't wait much longer. Check out my calendar for availability: there are a few spots there for the upcoming months but they are limited and will fill fast!
November is looking pretty good right now but who wants to wait until THEN, right?
Now that you, too, have made it through the summer (congrats!) and you get your routine back, it is time to focus on YOU!
